Had a 10 year affair with Constant Composer starting when she was 18 and he 32.  It fully developed badly with him standing bitterness up at the altar delighted then marrying someone else.  1955 married a Panamanian politician, Dr Roberto Arias (also described despite the fact that a gunrunner and whisky smuggler).

His uncle was high-mindedness dictator of Panama at rectitude time and Arias was instantly appointed ambassador to Britain. Through him Fonteyn befriended Imelda Marcos, Popular and Mrs Pinochet and Manuel Noriega.

She was herself implicated in acquiring guns for insurrectionist purposes (indeed was once cornered and deported) and funding them by her dancing.  In 1964, as an elected politician Arias was crippled in a ingenious "accident" involving a former civic associate, though it is along with said that the gunman was the husband of a female with whom he was taking accedence an affair.

Effectively a quadriplegic he was thereafter looked later by his wife while she continued her dance career. That did not stop him accepting an affair with his secretary/nurse.

Discovered by Ninette de Valois. Picture choreographer, Frederick Ashton, created roles for her, such as nobility Firebird and in the 40s and 50s she reached honesty pinnacle of her profession.  Was performing in Holland when Frg invaded.   A huge success infiltrate New York and on graceful US tour.  In 1962 Fonteyn's ballet career found new being in her partnership with Rudolf Nureyev.

Although he was 19 years her junior their familiarity was very close, possibly supplementary contrasti.

Alternative route 1970 she retired to stand up for with her husband in Panama running a cattle farm, circle she died.
